"Choice" Intro Page Setup: This script is provided free to all our template users. We do not however provide support for adding the feature to your template. This script is intended to be added to templates that do not now have an intro, or for users who wish to replace their current intro. Click here for language translation help Search our support center for any help STEP #1: Copy 3 files from this download: The "intro-choice-logo.swf", "intro-choice-logo.js", "intro.mp3" and "intro-choice.txt" into your main website folder. Put the 4 "intro-?.jpg" images that are in the zip file "picts" folder into your template "picts" folder. Put the "intro-choice-logo.fla" that is in the "flash" folder into your "flash" folder. Copy over the "THE-intro-2-choices.html" if you require only two choices entering your site. Or... copy over the "THE-intro.html" if you need three or four choices when entering your site. STEP #2 Select your flags: In the "picts" folder in this zip download are 20 flag-?.jpg images. Select the flags you need for your website. Place the flag images you require in your "picts" folder. You will not need to copy over the "flags.PSD". This file is included if you want to edit in Photoshop and make new flags. STEP #3: Rename your current template "index.html" to "home.htm" or any name you would like for your first language homepage. STEP #4: Rename the "THE-intro.html" or "THE-intro-2-choices.html" included in this add-in that you placed in your template folder to "index.html". This is your new homepage. STEP #5 General setup idea: In most cases if you have a split site (two languages) you will probably have one copy of a template in a "subfolder" inside your template folder. In the next steps we will assume that you have an English version in the main template folder and a copy with another language (spanish in the example) in a subfolder called "spanish". STEP #6: Edit your now newly named index.html. Change the link for the first flag to "index.html" (just after the "START FLAG TABLE" note in the "index.html"). The link now points to the "intro-help.html". Change that to point to the "home.htm" or whatever you renamed your first language page to. The second link will point to your subfolder, in this example called "spanish". Edit the link for the second flag from "intro-help.html" to "spanish/index.html". Assuming you have a folder called "spanish" with an "index.html" inside this folder. STEP #7 Replace images: This intro page includes a random image script that is set for 4 images. You can replace the 4 "intro-?.jpg" images in the "picts" folder with standard 600 x 400 pixel images. If you use sizes other than 600 x 400 the Flash may not display properly. Also see "options" for more on this random changer. STEP #7: Edit your menu.js in Notepad or a text editor so it points to "home.htm" instead of "index.html". This step is optional. If you do not edit the "menu.js" the "home" link will go to the intro instead of the home page of your template. Click here for "general" help linking between templates and subfolders. This support page has a few suggestions but is not specifically for this application. STEP #6: Edit the intro.txt that is included with this template. Edit only this exact text "Welcome: Edit this area with your text or logo" Changing the text after "intrologo=" Be sure not to modify the "intrologo=". The "index.html" will now be the first page that users will see at your website. OPTIONS: REMOVING THE MUSIC: To remove the music from the intro, open your new index.html with the intro and delete the lines of code between "START SOUND CODE" and "END SOUND CODE" USING OTHER MUSIC: You can use any other music that you would like. You can use another mp3 file, .wav, .au or .mid file. To change this edit the lines of code after the note "START SOUND CODE" with the new sound. On the intro page your will find "intro.mp3" in 2 places. This is what you will need to change to use other music or sounds. Be sure to edit "intro.mp3" in 2 places. INTRO COLORS: This intro is NOT linked to a CSS file. All color code will be inside the intro page "index.html". Some is at the top in the CSS area and some may be on other areas of the page. The ".fadedown" class near the top of the HTML source is a background color in NN and Firefox and a gradient filter in IE. This is the blueish page top area color. Edit the hex numbers in 3 places on this line. Click for color choices. REPLACING THE PICTURES: You can use your own pictures on the intro, just replace the 4 "intro-?.jpg" in the "picts" folder with your own 600 x 400 pixel .jpg graphics. HAVING 3 FLAGS OR MORE THAN 4 FLAGS: See the notes near the "FLAG TABLE" in the intro page (index.html) to see what 3 lines to delete and what percent code to edit to have 3 flags. For more flags, copy and paste the 3 lines of code. ADDING TO THE RANDOM CHANGER: The random script is showing 4 .jpg images. You can add as many as you need. Find the "START RANDOM IMAGE" note in the index.html.
